Yes, today is the last day of school. Grace is happy about it. Andrew...not so much. Yesterday was the high school award ceremony. Andrew raked in the awards! He won the Accelerated Reader award - he had the highest score in his class with 303 points. He also got awards for band, track and basketball. For band, he received a trumpet pin and a First Year pin - both for marching band for this upcoming fall. But, the biggest award he received was the science award. He had the highest grade in his class. With that award, he received ten dollars. He was pretty excited. Next year, he will be taking all honors classes. He is nervous but excited. He will have a full schedule. Now, Steve and I need to keep the kids busy this summer. Not sure what we will do. Andrew will need to finish his Algebra class before this fall. I'm sure we will do some camping. We would like to make it to Gettysburg at some point. In all my years living in Pennsylvania, I have never been there. I'm looking forward to it. Also, Andrew will have band camp over the summer. They need to practice marching band routines. Grace wants to join cheerleading, so I'm sure she will have practices at some point, too. Also, Steve and I have a trip planned to Hershey in July. Just the two of us. We are going to see Rush in concert. We are really looking forward to that. Thinking about it now, I guess we will be busier than I had originally thought. Fall will be here before we know it.
