Mother's Day...

I had a good Mother's Day. It was quite busy. Mom, Dad, Bonnie (Dad's wife), Jennifer and Martine came to our house for breakfast. Steve made scrambled eggs and sausage for everyone. We had a great time just being together. Grace gave me a cookbook from her kindergarten class. It has all of the kids' favorite recipes - told by the kids. I will post Grace's recipe on another day. Steve and Andrew gave me a certificate for a new haircut and makeover at a local salon. Everyone stayed around until it was time to head to my grandparents' for dinner. We said goodbye to Dad and Bonnie - thankfully they live much closer now. We had a great dinner at Nanny and Bompa's. Jen bought some kites, so we all headed to Aunt Alicia's yard to use them. The kids had a great time. You can see the rest of the pictures by clicking here. I hope all of the mom's had a wonderful day!!

Slow Start - A Great Middle - A Not So Good Ending...

My dad and his wife, Bonnie, are back in Pennsylvania. They had been living in Nashville. The past few months have been hard - alot of tornadoes touching down around them. Dad decided he, "Never saw a snow storm flatten a house!!", so they decided to move back home. They are now near York. It's nice to have them close, again, but still not close enough. So, they made plans to come visit yesterday. They said they would be here around noon. They weren't. They ended up getting here around 5:00. Not a big deal - I was happy to see them. Steve made pizza for everyone and we had a great conversation. After dinner, all of us went outside for a bit. It was getting dark, but the kids wanted to play wth Grace's new ball. They were playing kickball and Andrew was chasing Grace. Grace was paying attention to Andrew and not where she was going. At the last minute, she looked up and slammed head-first right into the bird feeder post. She ended up with quite a bloody nose and a banged up knee. It doesn't look like her nose is broken - Thank God!! She seems okay this morning. Now we're waiting for Dad, Bonnie, Jennifer and Martine to get here for breakfast. We'll be going to my grandparents' later this afternoon for dinner. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!!!
